That’s one of the reason why we call Normandy oysters “deep-sea oysters”. Another reason is that when you taste Normandy oysters, their juicy fleshy texture,  and iodine-rich ocean flavor, with a delicate touch of smooth milky taste, will bring your mind right back to the deep sea. It’s like a milky juicy ocean melted in your mouth.

Giant meaty flesh, delicate milky and nutty savor, Normandy oysters are generally much appreciated by oyster lovers. Take a trip to Normandy, those milky “deep-sea” oysters are waiting for you to taste.

Normandy, with succulent salt-marsh lambs

Surrounded by water at high tide, its unmistakable outline is visible from miles away, a landmark for pilgrims since medieval times. But this glorious corner of Normandy is also a delight for lovers of slow food.

Move away from the Mount and the salt marshes surrounding the bay are the source of delicious salt marsh lamb. Sheeps graze on plants washed regularly by the high tide, imparting a very special flavour to the succulent meat. The meat of salt-marsh lambs are naturally sea salted! Such tenderness and unique flavor already made salt-marsh lambs one of the most precious delicacy in French cuisine.

First of all, you need to know that The Toute la Mer sur un Plateau seafood festival takes place right on the port of Granville in Normandy each year.

As number one shellfish production region, if anyone can put on a cracking seafood festival, it’s certainly in Normandy. Whelks, cockles, scallops, clams, oysters, mussels, prawns, crabs and lobsters … in Normandy, you will find all kinds of giant fresh seafood that will make you scream!
